HUGE MISTAKE

As you know. Or maybe heard. I wrote a comic book called The Winkles Meet the Neighbors. Plus I turned my life around for Christ. So if you’re not spiritual minded or not interested, best turn away now.

Okay, for the rest of you, just because you become a Christian or rededicate your life doesn’t mean it’s all rose pedals and dollar signs. Nope. It’s quite the opposite. It’s struggles, trials and a bit of some suffering as you learn about your mistakes, recognize them in others – especially those who you trust should know better. And of course mostly everyone is a judgemental prick.

Yup. And I mean mostly everyone.

So there you go. For most who’ve back sliden and know what I’m referring to you have to wonder why you’d change at all. I mean why turn from a life of misery and challenges and not knowing what it’s all about to a life of misery and challenges but knowing it’s all worth it? Because you find a love that’s so overpowering that it makes up for all the huge mistakes people make in your life. Love that covers over all those issues those people carry with them when they walk all over you.

The previous versions of my comic are trash and they belong in the trash. Such rubbish. Ugh. I can’t believe I worshiped muscle guys so much it makes me ill. But when you hear that a 13 year old called my comic creepy it make me really upset. They aren’t wrong. They are sheltered. That’s their problem. Their family have kept them hidden so one day when they leave the basement they’ll not know how to interact with society and learn quickly their behavior is shunned by a lot of people and will probably be ridiculed to no end.

And I won’t get to witness it. Nope. I’ll just remember their response. Right? Wrong? Both?

My comic is being revamped, renewed, redesigned. And if that kid still doesn’t like it I won’t care even more. Why? Because it’s not written for their approval. It’s not written for them at all. It’s written for the kid who needs hope, love, acceptance and peace of mind that there is a God in Heaven who loves them with all He has and just wants that kid to know it.

After all, if Christians spent less time mocking and berating each other they would have more time to feed the homeless, more time to take care of the lonely and sick, and they might just make an important dent in the world. But nope. They got stupid things to say instead and pretend they’re perfect on Sundays. Yup. That’s what it’s all about – looking good so Mom and Dad will get them a new IPhone or some other piece of worthless junk to make them feel good about themselves.

I won’t make this huge mistake again. I’ll just send it off to the printer, find my audience and discover who really needs this message – not a spoiled, sheltered kid – but kids who need authentic love from God.

Pray for me.

And have a nice Monday,
Ben
