I can’t help it. I have to talk about this topic.
If you have known any or are one then you might be offended and frankly I don’t care.
What does the Bible say about your body being the Temple of the Holy Spirit? It says just that. 1 Corinthians 19-20 : “19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”
What does that really mean? Does it mean you don’t own your body? Does it mean you own it so you don’t have to care about it? Does it mean it’s your body you’re welcome to do with it what you want, how you please, how you want? Or does it mean something entirely different.
Also in the Bible we are instructed in Matthew 22:37-38 “Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.”
If you are to love the Lord your God with your heart where is your heart? It’s in your body. And what is that body meant to be – a Temple of the Holy Spirit. And who is the Holy Spirit – He is God’s active presence. He is part of the Trinity but He is God.
Christians completely miss the boat. They load up on fat and sugar and convenience. They lay around and do nothing all week only to become activated for 2 hours on Sunday and then go back to being slugs. They treasure the few fleeting moments when they get to discredit, condemn, judge and shame people whom they feel are evil, wicked and inheritors of hell. They are the worst kind of people who will tell you that they are forgiven and are going the heaven in spite of their awful witness and rude representation of Christ, God and the church.
They are the unchosen ones and they will be the last to admit they are goats in a small flock of sheep. They will stand before God on the day of Judgement and he’ll say “Be gone. I don’t even know you.” Harsh reality but fat lazy do-nothing Christians are a dime a dozen and we have too many in line at the soup kitchen expecting to receive that which is intended for the poor.
You see fat lazy Christians are cheap. They won’t give you a dime or a dollar or hand you their lunch if you and your children are starving to death. Nope. They have to make themselves more fat, more compromised, more complacent and they have no time or energy or money or food for you. They will “pray” about it which means they will forget you even exist the minute they leave the room. As far as you’re concerned they don’t even care you exist. And that’s wrong. Christians like to think they are golden children that only God loves and cares about as He’s already condemning those who aren’t in his throngs. Uh no, that is not correct.
There is hope for the fat, the lazy, the useless in the Christian realm. But they won’t go to the gym, get up off their couches and do kingdom work. No. They will also scoff at anything remotely represented that they will deny that could be of God, by God and from God that says a bodybuilder or a fitness person or anyone who just enjoys being outdoors could be a Christian. For some reason these slugs can’t admit that something or someone different would be Christ like when the Bible CLEARLY has MANY examples of fit, strong, healthy, jacked men who built an ark, carried the ten commandment tablets from a mountain top, dropped the roof down on top of his enemies and even carried a cross.
Show me a fat, lazy, useless individual who did anything in the Bible. Go on, I’ll wait.
While I wait, I’ll go clear out your cabinet of all the processed garbage, throw out your television and introduce you to yard equipment and exercise equipment so you can move your lazy body and get into shape to really represent the Holy Spirit inhabits your body. Otherwise keep dying and just know when the end is near and you wonder why God turns you away that you had a chance to do the right thing, but chose against it.
